A Happy Infusionsoft Customer Reviews the Web Based Software that Automates Marketing, Sales & Customer Relationships
My small law firm has used Infusionsoft for customer relations management, automatic followup marketing and delegation of attorney tasks since October of 2007. Infusionsoft is a cloud-based software product that is responsible for adding hundreds of clients and substantially increasing my law firm’s revenue.
Here are the important facts I want you to get from this Infusionsoft review:
- Infusionsoft works! The three finalists in Infusionsoft’s 2008 Ultimate Marketer contest used Infusionsoft to make serious money:
A. The contest winner went from $0 revenue and no product in February 2008 to one informational product and $844,832 in revenue the last 10.5 months of 2008,
B. A finalist went from $35,000 gross sales in 2006 pre-Infusion to $838,569 in 2007 and $2,099,706 in 2008, and
C. The third finalist’s company had $2,000,000 gross revenue pre-Infusion then had gross sales of $6.1 million in 2007 and $10 million in 2008. For details about how Dentist Profits quadrupled revenue in two years ($2 mill to $10 mill), see Darcy’s online how to web page.
- I suspect you are like I was before I bought Infusionsoft, i.e., you are not really marketing.
- You get leads, but do not have the time to follow up with prospects to turn them into paying clients or customers.
- A prospective business lead who contacts you today, but does not hire you or purchase your service or product today is likely to need your service or product in the future, but will probably not remember your business name, your name or any contact information when the prospect is ready to purchase.
- If you follow up regularly with prospect over a period of time, the prospect will probably purchase from you when he or she is ready to buy.
- Following up with prospects will not happen unless:
A. You dedicate an employee to actually do the follow up (a very expensive solution), or
B. You use an automatic system like Infusionsoft to do the follow up.
- Infusionsoft will do a better job of marketing and following up with prospects than any marketing person you could hire, but it costs only a small fraction ($299/month for a 5 user license) of what you would pay an employee to do follow up marketing.
- If you buy and use Infusionsoft properly, you will get more business and make more money and the cost of the program will be peanuts compared to the money you will make from using Infusionsoft to collect leads and do automatic followup marketing.
- Buy Infusionsoft now. It’s a no brainer.
The primary reason I bought Infusionsoft is because I had (and still have) a tremendous amount of people entering my store (that’s what I call my website), but I was not able to convert many of the visitors to paying clients. During 2011 my law firm’s website ( www.keytlaw.com) had more than 100,000 visitors. Before I bought Infusionsoft, I did not collect visitor information or market to website visitors. Infusionsoft collects prospect information automatically from our website and does automatic follow up marketing over an extended period of time.
Infusionsoft has paid off big time. The software has generated a tremendous amount of additional revenue for me and my law firm. I expect even more increases in future revenue as we automate more and more of my law firm’s marketing.
Infusionsoft is a web-based automatic marketing system. Here’s how Infusionsoft describes its web-based marketing system:
Infusionsoft is an “Active” web-based solution designed to help small businesses double their revenues by automating and improving marketing, sales, and customer management.
Our flagship Infusionsoft product revolutionizes how small businesses run from end-to-end. With a heavy dose of marketing automation and additional tools to manage customer service, sales force automation, e-commerce, billing, and a lot more, Infusionsoft replaces the disparate, incompatible systems currently in place and leaves you with more time to strategically grow your business instead of managing fire after fire.
Infusionsoft is a full time UNPAID automatic marketing robot that doesn’t forget to send an email, letter, fax, or voice blast to a client or prospect. It also notifies your staff when they need to contact a client or prospect. It does it all automatically based on the follow up sequences you create.
My Pre-Infusionsoft Lack of Marketing
In my pre-Infusionsoft days, I did NO follow up marketing. For example, a lot of people who are interested in forming an Arizona limited liability company call or send me an email every day. Pre-Infusionsoft, I talked to the prospect on the phone and then manually sent the prospect a marketing email message that said why the prospect should hire me and that had a link to my online LLC formation agreement. That’s it. I never contacted the prospect again. No follow up and tons of lost business. I did not have a system in place to follow up with prospects.
Marketing gurus tell us that most of the time when a prospect contacts you the prospect is not ready to buy. That fact is why you need to get the prospects name and email and/or phone number so you can do follow up marketing to the prospect. If you do not do follow marketing the prospect will probably not remember you when the prospect is ready to buy.
Marketing gurus say you need an average of 7 – 9 touches before a prospect is ready to purchase. That is why follow up marketing is so important. The more often you follow up with a prospect you increase the possibility that the prospect will remember you and hire you when the prospect is ready to buy. Unfortunately for most people their day job interferes with follow up marketing to prospects.
I checked my Time Matters database on November 17, 2007, and found that I had sent and received over 1,400 email messages during the preceding 20 months, the subject of which was forming an Arizona LLC. I never followed up and pursued any of these 1,400 prospects for either LLC formation services or LLC operational related legal services. I lost a lot of business by not having a system that automates follow up marketing with prospects and clients.
How Infusionsoft Can Automate Collecting Leads & Doing Followup Marketing
Usually the hardest part of the sales puzzle is getting contact information from a prospect who is interested in your specific product or service. When you find that kind of prospect, you need to collect their name and email address and/or phone number and do follow up marketing. Now, thanks to Infusionsoft, my law firm has a system designed to collect lead information and do automatic follow up marketing 24/7/365.
My Post-Infusionsoft Marketing
I am going to describe how I set up Infusionsoft to collect information about leads and do automatic follow up marketing to sell more Arizona limited liability company formations. The first type of law business I used Infusionsoft for was LLC formations. The system and process I created for generating more LLC formation business is typical and could be replicated for any type of service or product.
The Free Report
The first thing I did was create a “free report” and offer it on my Arizona Limited Liability Company Law website. The free report is the hook used to collect leads from visitors who come to your website. The gurus say that if you want a prospect to give you his or her name or email address or phone number you have to give the prospect something of value – the free report. I wrote a very informative article with a catchy name called “10 Critical Facts Every LLC Owner Must Know.” A link to the free report is prominently displayed on my Arizona Limited Liability Company Law website. To get a copy of the free report, an LLC formation prospect must enter his or her first and last name and email address into a web form that I created in Infusionsoft (very easy to do). When the prospect enters the info into the web form and clicks on the submit button the prospect’s information is entered into Infusionsoft’s database and Infusionsoft then automatically does the following:
A. Infusionsoft sends an email to the prospect and asks the prospect to click on a link in the email to opt in to receive the 10 Critical Facts article. Although you can configure Infusionsoft to use the single opt in method we usually use the double opt in because we want to make sure that the information submitted was not bogus. This step is the single opt in step.
B. When the prospect clicks on the submit button in the web form, Infusionsoft automatically sends an immediate email message to the prospect that asks the prospect to opt in to get the free report by clicking on the link in the email message. If the prospect clicks on the opt in link Infusionsoft immediately sends a second email to the prospect that contains a link to the free report that is contained on a password protected page on my LLC law website. The email also contains a sales message that gives the prospect reasons why he or she should hire me to form their LLC. This is the double opt in step.
C. If the prospect does not opt in within 24 hours, Infusionsoft will send a second email message the day after the prospect requested the free report. If the prospect does not opt in within 48 hours, Infusionsoft sends a third opt in email message 72 hours after the prospect requested the free report. Infusionsoft will send a fourth and final reminder to opt in a week after the prospect requested the free report. The content, timing and number of reminder emails is entirely up to you.
D. If a prospect opts in I configured Infusionsoft to send a series of marketing emails to the prospect over the next three months.
E. If a prospect opts in then I included text in each of the automatically emailed follow up messages that invites the prospect to click on a link to subscribe to my free bi-weekly email newsletter about forming and operating Arizona LLCs. If the prospect clicks on the link to subscribe to the LLC newsletter then Infusionsoft automatically subscribes the prospect to our LLC newsletter and Infusionsoft will send the prospect an email every two weeks about some issue related to forming or operating an Arizona LLC.
F. There is a check box on my web form that a prospect can check if the prospect wants me to call him or her to answer questions about Arizona LLCs. If the prospect checks this box then when the prospect clicks on the submit button on the web form Infusionsoft sends me an email message telling the name, phone number and email address of the prospect and reminding me to call the prospect. I try to immediately call each prospect. While talking to the prospect I add information I learn about the prospect into the Notes field in the prospects record in Infusionsoft. I want this information so that if I talk to the prospect again I can show the prospect I remember him or her and what we previously discussed.
G. If the prospect checked the box on the web form asking me to call Infusionsoft will create three tasks for me. I configured Infusionsoft to remind me to call the prospect 1, 7 and 14 days after the prospect clicks on the submit button. The purpose of these tasks is to remind me to do follow up marketing by calling the prospects over a period of two weeks. The day after the prospect checked the submit button I will call and ask if the prospect read the free report or if he or she has any additional questions about forming an Arizona LLC. These personal phone calls are a great way to get new clients. People really appreciate it when I call and remember their name and the subject of our prior discussions.
Collecting Leads & Doing Follow Up Marketing When You Get Phone Call from a Prospect
Another very important component of my Infusionsoft prospect information collection process and followup marketing involves using Infusionsoft when a prospect calls me on the telephone. Here is how I do it:
A. I used Infusionsoft (very easy to do) to create a web form that contains fields for typical prospect/client contact information. I decided what information would be asked form on the web form. The web form also has several check boxes. This form in accessible on our website by our personnel (but not by the public). The purpose of the form is allow firm personnel to manually enter prospect information into Infusionsoft to start the automatic follow up marketing sequences listed above.
B. If a prospect calls me about forming an Arizona LLC at the end of the call I will ask the prospect if he or she wants to get a copy of my article called “10 Critical Facts Every LLC Owner Must Know. They always says yes. I then ask for their first and last names, email address and phone number. I also enter information about the substance of our conversation into the note field of the web form so I can use the information on future follow up phone calls. I put checks in the boxes next to “Add to 10 Critical Facts Sequence” and “Add to LLC Prospect Call List.” By selecting these two choices I cause the prospect to begin the sequence described beginning with subparagraph A of the preceding section above.
C. I also send the prospect an email message that has links to articles about forming LLCs and asset protection on my Arizona Limited Liability Company Law website, including a link to my online LLC formation questionnaire. I recommend that every law firm have at this program and at least one person learn how to make pdf fillable forms.
D. 1, 7 and 14 days after I’ve added a prospect to the sequence Infusionsoft will send me an email reminding me to call the prospect. It is this type of follow up marketing that makes a difference in getting a lot more new clients.
Follow the steps outlined above and use Infusionsoft to create multiple free reports and automatic follow up marketing sequences to collect leads from your website and phone calls and your bottom line will increase.
Infusionsoft Automates Cross Marketing & Segmenting Your Prospect Lists
Marketing experts will tell you “Do not waste time or resources marketing to people who are not interested in your product or service. Although I could use Infusionsoft to send a blast email message to everybody who has opted in to our system, that would be a big mistake. This type of mass marketing goes out mostly to people who are not interested in the product or service. It can cause people to opt out of future emails and also make them unhappy with you.
The better way to market is to have a method to determine if a prospect is interested in widget law and then only send widget law marketing materials to the people who are interested in widget law. Infusionsoft is great at doing this. Here is how use Infusionsoft to segment my prospect list and then do follow up marketing targeted to the interests of the prospects on each segmented list.
A. First I have to identify if a prospect is interested in a legal service we offer. I do this two ways:
1. In one or two email messages sent to an LLC formation prospect I insert statement that says if you are interested in learning more about wills, trusts and estate planning click on the link below to subscribe to our free bi-weekly estate planning newsletter. If an LLC prospect clicks on that link, Infusionsoft adds the LLC prospect to the estate planning newsletter sequence. Now the LLC prospect will get an email message every two weeks that contains an informative article on some estate planning topic.
2. If I am talking to an LLC prospect and the prospect indicates an interest in estate planning I ask the prospect if he or she would like to get my free estate planning newsletter. They always say yes so I check the box in my web form to add the prospect to the estate planning newsletter sequence in addition to the “Add to 10 Critical Facts Sequence” and “Add to LLC Prospect Call List.” I check the box to add the prospect to the “Add to Estate Plan Prospect Call List” so I will get task reminder emails periodically reminding me to call the prospect and touch bases about the prospect’s estate planning needs.
B. Once Infusionsoft recognizes that a prospect is interested in one of the legal services we offer the prospect gets added to:
1. An automated email sequence that sends marketing emails to the prospect at intervals we select. We also write the content of the marketing messages. This messages have links to articles on our website and to our online pdf fillable engagement agreements.
2. An automated task sequence that notifies the appropriate attorney periodically to call the prospect.
C. We can also have Infusionsoft assemble a letter addressed to the prospect if we want to send the prospect an actual document rather than just email messages.
D. Infusionsoft can also be used to send text messages, but I have not used this yet. It’s on my to do list.
Infusionsoft Works!
Infusionsoft’s automatic marketing system works for me and my firm because in 2011 I formed 522 limited liability companies. I have formed 5,800+ Arizona LLCs since I started counting in 2002.
Opting In and Out
A very nice feature of Infusionsoft is the ability to require new prospects to double opt-in before being added to a follow up sequence. The double opt-in process greatly increases deliverability of emails and also prevents people from entering somebody else’s email address into Infusionsoft’s database.
Every email message Infusionsoft sends contains an unsubscribe link. If the recipient of the message clicks on the opt-out link, the recipient is taken to a web page where the recipient has the option to opt out from all lists and follow up sequences or the recipient may opt-out of only some of the available lists and follow up sequences.
What Happens When a Prospect Purchases a Product or Service
When using automatic follow up marketing it is critical that prospects do not continue to get marketing material for a specific product or service after purchasing the product or service. I’ll use my LLC formation system to illustrate how Infusionsoft removes a prospect from the LLC prospect list and adds the prospect to the LLC Purchaser list when the prospect hires me to form his or her LLC.
What happens if an LLC prospect purchases an LLC? Does the prospect continue to get marketing messages from me suggesting that the prospect should hire me to form an LLC? NO! When the prospect purchases the LLC from my online store using Infusionsoft’s shopping basket, Infusionsoft automatically removes the LLC purchaser from the “10 Critical Facts” and the “LLC Formation Prospect” follow up sequence and adds the purchaser to another follow up sequence called “LLC Purchaser.” This prevents the LLC formation prospect from getting future email messages and phone calls from me trying to get the prospect to hire me to form a new LLC. Instead Infusionsoft starts sending the LLC purchaser informational articles about forming and operating the person’s new Arizona LLC.
Infusionsoft Lets Clients Update Their Own Contact Information
One of the automatic email messages that Infusionsoft sends to people who purchase my LLC formation service contains a link that asks the person to use to check and update the person’s contact information in Infusionsoft. When the person clicks on the link, the person is taken to a web page that displays the person’s contact information in Infusionsoft and the person may correct any errors or add missing contact information. This is a fantastic feature. This feature helps us to keep our clients’ contact information current by having them update their own information for us every so often.
Richard Keyt’s Impressions of Infusionsoft
My firm consists of two lawyers and four legal assistants. We are small, but I believed that Infusionsoft was essential to attracting more clients and making more money. I was right. I would not practice law without Infusionsoft. Since buying Infusionsoft, I have achieved both of those goals beyond my wildest dreams. I believe in technology and I believe that good software allows me to make me money and be more efficient while making more money.
After using Infusionsoft in my law practice since October of 2007, I know that it has helped us capture new clients that we would not have gotten pre-Infusionsoft. I also know that I will turn a great many of the prospects now being captured by Infusionsoft into paying clients in the future. By using Infusionsoft, we are now doing the following marketing tasks that we never did before:
- Capturing prospect information from phone calls, email messages and website visitors.
- Sending automatic followup emails to prospects using well-designed marketing followup sequences over an extended period of time.
- Sending email reminders to our attorneys to call prospects to market our services.
- Sending letters and flyers to prospects who Infusionsoft segments into a specific area of interest.
I also know that because of Infusionsoft, I have obtained many paying clients that I would not have obtained pre-Infusionsoft. I know that my bottom line has substantially increased because of Infusionsoft. Consider the possibilities for selling my legal services to the 1,200, 2,400, 3,600 etc. LLC prospects who request my 10 Critical Facts article in the next one, two and three years, respectively. Once I get somebody to double opt-in to one of my lists, I will be marketing to that person indefinitely until the person opts-out.
Infusionsoft’s Features
Infusionsoft does much more than what I have discussed in this article. This review only scratches the surface of this very powerful and feature rich web-based software program. Go here to learn more about Infusionsoft’s many many features.
Infusion Technical Support
The $299 I pay each month for our five user license of Infusionsoft entitles me to all upgrades to the software plus unlimited phone tech support. The first year I used Infusion, I constantly called tech support because there was a lot I did not understand. Infusionsoft’s tech support is great. The techs know the software and are always very helpful. I recommend that new Infusionsoft users call tech support’s “how do I” line with questions about how use the software. For software glitches, Infusionsoft tech support has a separate phone line.
Online Help Learning Infusionsoft
Infusionsoft has great online training and help. Infusionsoft has a ton of online how to videos that demonstrate Infusionsoft’s features. The videos are a great way to learn how to use the software. The company also has a very active and useful message forum where Infusionsoft customers and staff can ask questions and get answers from Infusionsoft personnel, customers and certified Infusionsoft consultants.
How Much Does it Cost?
The good news is that Infusionsoft is relatively inexpensive. It offers a stair-stepped pricing structure. The standard plan is $99/month. To see the different plans and prices go to Infusionsoft’s pricing page.
The Bottom Line
I said early on in this review the buying Infusionsoft is a no brainer. If you are one of the few people who can do automatic capturing of prospects and than automatically market to the prospects, you don’t need Infusionsoft, but you’ve got to be one very tired and over worked dude or dudette. For everybody else who wants to make more money, Infusionsoft will do it automatically for you better and cheaper than any employee you could hire and its doesn’t require payroll taxes, health insurance, vacation, sick days, personal time off, jury duty time off and it won’t sue you.
Buy Infusionsoft now – you won’t regret it.
The primary reason I wrote this review of Infusionsoft is because I believe in the software and its ability to help other businesses make money and generate business. Infusionsoft works for me and thousands other businesses. Call if me you have questions about Infusionsoft. I’m happy to tell you what I know about the software. My phone number is 480-664-7478.
If You Want to Make More Money, You Must Watch Infusionsoft’s Demo Videos
